Your student takes a full-length proctored SAT on one Saturday and a full-length proctored ACT on a separate Saturday — each under realistic testing conditions.
Within days of completing both tests, you'll receive a comprehensive score report with section-by-section breakdowns, percentile rankings, and identified areas of opportunity.

"The diagnostic was the single best investment we made in our son's college prep. We had no idea he'd score so much better on the ACT than the SAT. That insight alone saved us months of wasted preparation time."
The SAT/ACT Diagnostic is ideal for students in grades 9–12 who are beginning their standardized test preparation journey, unsure whether to take the SAT or ACT, or looking to establish a baseline score before starting a tutoring program. It's also perfect for students who have already taken one test but want to compare their performance on the other.
Each diagnostic — SAT and ACT — is a full-length, timed exam that takes approximately 3 hours. Administering both on the same day would be exhausting and would compromise your student's performance on the second test. Scheduling them on separate Saturdays ensures your child can perform at their best on each exam and give you accurate, comparable results.
Each full-length diagnostic runs approximately 3 hours under official timing conditions. Tests are held Saturday mornings with doors open 15 minutes before the start time. You will register for one Saturday for the SAT and a separate Saturday for the ACT.
Yes. We offer both in-person and remote proctored options. Remote students receive the same quality of assessment, score analysis, and expert consultation as in-person participants. If you prefer a remote session, select "Remote session" from the date dropdown and we'll reach out to arrange your dates.
Regular time follows the official SAT and ACT timing exactly as students would experience on test day. Extended time (50%) is available for students with documented accommodations who receive extra time on standardized tests. Both options are $250 and include the same comprehensive score analysis and expert consultation.
You'll schedule a one-on-one consultation with a Zoffness specialist to review the results in detail. We'll recommend which test to focus on, identify specific areas for improvement, and outline a personalized prep plan — whether that includes our tutoring programs or independent study.
The diagnostic is a standalone service, but for students who subsequently enroll in our SAT/ACT Instruction program, the diagnostic fee may be applied as a credit toward their tutoring package. Ask us for details during your results consultation.
We typically recommend the diagnostic for students in grades 9 through 12. Starting early — even as a freshman or sophomore — gives families the most time to develop a strategic preparation plan, though students at any stage of high school benefit from the assessment.
