The critical Executive Function skills we will cover are as follows:
Brief Overview of Group vs Private Session:
Group EF classes are a place for students to practice strengthening these essential cognitive skills in an interactive and engaging way β giving a broad overview of their applications and benefits in the student's daily life.
Private sessions are an opportunity to delve deeper into how to apply these essential skills to achieve specific goals both in the classroom and beyond β this personalized approach is carefully tailored to the individual student's learning preferences and academic goals.
"Kelsey has been incredible with our daughter. She went from completely overwhelmed and avoiding her work to actually sitting down and managing her own time. The take-home tools really made the difference β she uses them every day now."
Executive Function coaching is valuable for any student who struggles with staying organized, managing time, initiating tasks, or self-regulating in academic settings β regardless of whether they have a formal diagnosis. It is especially beneficial for students with ADHD, learning differences, or IEPs who need targeted strategies adapted to their specific profile.
Students work with Kelsey in either group or private sessions, with the private format providing the most individualized support for students with specific academic challenges or goals.
Executive Function coaching teaches students the cognitive skills that underlie academic success β things like planning, prioritizing, task initiation, time management, and emotional regulation. Unlike tutoring, which focuses on subject-matter content, EF coaching builds the internal systems students need to manage any challenge independently.
Group sessions are a great fit for students who benefit from peer interaction and a structured group format, and provide a broad introduction to EF skills. Private sessions are better suited to students who need highly individualized strategies, have specific academic goals, or are working on challenges that require deeper one-on-one attention. If you're unsure, start with a private session and Kelsey can make a recommendation.
Each session is 30 minutes. The five-session package provides a structured program across five individual sessions, giving enough time to introduce, practice, and reinforce the core EF skill areas.
Sessions can be conducted in person at our Mamaroneck office or remotely via video. Kelsey adapts her approach to work effectively in both formats, and take-home tools are provided after every session regardless of format.
No diagnosis is required. Many students who benefit most from EF coaching have no formal diagnosis β they simply struggle with one or more of the executive function areas covered in the program. Kelsey works with students of all profiles.
